I'm currently stuck between choosing a laptop for college, as an undergraduate: either a Vaio VGN-NS240E/L ( http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=9155521&type=product&id=1218038118994) or a Vaio VGN-CS215J/W ( http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=9153195&type=product&id=1218038122509). I'll mainly be using the laptop for the Internet, word-processing programs, and Adobe Photoshop CS4 (probably not its 3D options). I don't really care about the looks; they both look amazing.
I'm leaning more towards the CS for its portability, but the NS has some really appealing specs: ATi MRHD 3430 graphics card instead of Intel 4500HD and a gigabit ethernet. However, the CS is running Vista 64-bit (the NS is 32-bit), and I'd like to keep my laptop for 2-3 years, so maybe 32-bit will become pretty obsolete by then?
Basically, I'm suspicious as to why this CS is priced almost $200 more than the NS. I'd like to know if any of you have experienced any reasons why the CS is not so good. I've heard of issues with the fan and wifi for the CS, but the NS is notorious for its short battery life.
Thanks.

You doing any game playing or video editing? If not get the CS for portability. If neither portability or graphics power is a concern just get the cheaper one. Any 'faster' components will make little difference unless you are going to do tasks that will use them.
The CS and NS are both Sony 'budget' models (next step up from them if the SR and FW respectively).
EDIT: Just noticed you want to use Photoshop, perhaps get the one with dedicated ATI graphics then. -
Would like help choosing between Vaio NS or CS
