Im unable to figure out myself, or get a straight answer from Sony Canada what the difference between X-Brite and X-brite ECO is. I am seriously considering buying a Sony laptop pretty much soley based on their screen quality, but want to understand this difference before i purchase one. Does anyone know this or any other information about Sony laptop screens?

    Thanks a ton

xbrite = more brighter but cosumes more battery life.
xbrite-eco= less brighter but saves battery life.

    Thanks,

I talked to a Sony rep, who told me that Xbrite-Eco is the improved and superior screen. If XBrite-Eco is dimmer, is it considerably dimmer?

    Thanks alot

I have a BX567B with the XBRITE-ECO screen and it is excellent. I used it today at the coffee shop and there is very little glare. Plenty bright enough for me.

no Xbrite-Eco screens are still extremely nice, nicer than almost anything on the market, except Fujitsu screens of course :)

why do you think fujitsu are superior than Sony's X-brite?
I've witnessed both and to tell you truth, I spotted little or no difference. Even if there was, the quality was very similar and there is no telling which screen is better. One screen may be little 'dimmer' than other but gives you better color and contrast.

    Just my 2cents.

prob gotta do with his screwed driver update.. i will ask him to roll back to original manufactured one and will do a test again. his screen has some kind of 'pink' cast.. S6240 btw.
