I`m wondering what the response time of Sony's Xbrite screens compared to normal - or other glossy lcds is. In particular the screen of the FS series.

Actually, not too long ago, I was looking for the specs of notebook LCDs too (very hard to find). I'm guessing that the response time of most LCD screens are 25ms right now, as desktop LCDs are transitioning to 16ms and 8ms. The glossy coating will have no effect, as the response time is determined by the LCD itself.

    rikkitikkitavi89,

Response time is how long it takes for the LCD monitor to switch from black to white or vice versa after it receives a command from the graphics card.

Yes, it's rather difficult to find out like all specific things in laptop world really. I did read the Toshiba M40 has a 20ms response time or something. Pretty high. I'm interested in this because Sony claims Xblack has a low response time but do not give any numbers (notebooks).

Manufacturers also need to improve the viewing angle in notebook LCDs. Desktop LCDs are at 178 horizontal/178 vertical; no notebook LCD comes even close to that.
