    Hello
I just want to warn you that you can never play games using Sony VAIO Keyboard, I tested all New VAIO models at store, and they all have the same Keyboard issue, and that's:
Let's try FIFA 09 for example, while playing you'll see that there is a problem in the keyboard, when holding arrows Down and Right or Down and Left together to move players, then any letter button to (pass, sliding tackle, sprint or whatever else), the game doesn't response to the letter press.
To confirm that issue, open Word or NotePad, hold Down and Right or Down and Left together, then a letter button for example "s", the letter "s" isn't printed.

So you can never play games using Sony VAIO Keyboard, you have to get a GamePad or an external keyboard.
I hope that Sony releases an update for that issue as soon as possible.

Does this only apply to the arrow keys? If so, why not just bind WASD?

This problem isn't exclusive to Vaio keyboards, the phenomenon is known as rollover.

BTW, that's a pretty generalized statement....

Maybe use an USB gamepad or something to pay the game....

And it's very specific to one game that you happen to play. Not to say it's not a valid unhappiness, but I game on my VAIO all the time, and have never run into this problem. It just sucks that your particular game has this issue pop up.

If you need a cheap controller you could always use DealExtreme. I picked this one up and it works quite well:

I suppose I'm fortunate, as I don't play games that require such key combos (strategy). However, I do find it disturbing that it won't work. At any rate a good gamepad would make games that require two arrow keys and a third key work much better (unless they start making 8 directional keyboards).

Hopefully you're being facetious. If not, this is not a reason to not buy the SR. As was said previously, this phenomenon is extremely common among laptop keyboards, and generally shouldn't have much impact on any game.

    Thanks guys for replying

I'm not sure, but there's no game you have to use three letters buttons, but there're some games you have to use two arrows and a letter button.

    I guess you're right.

Unfortunately this keyboard issue in VAIO models impact on games that needs two arrows and a letter button.

Honestly, I only tried FIFA 09, but this issue exists while typing in Word and Notepad, and that means that the issue could exist in every game that needs two arrows and a letter button.

Even with that being the case, I hardly think that's a reason to say you can never play games on a Vaio. That's definitely unfortunate for games that require a 3 button combo without including shift/cntl/alt/etc. Also, generally speaking, even keyboards that have this issue don't have it for ALL 3 button combos. My previous laptop had issues with space bar and usually W and D or W and E, but most other combos worked fine.

Personally I find fps games to play just fine with the new vaio keyboards, and with fifa, isnt that pretty much unplayable with a keyboard anyway?

    just get a gamepad :)

I just tried Bioshock, arrows aren't used in the game, you can move using W, A, D as S.
