Just saw the new Z in a local computer store. The bios version is R5030M3. The video driver is the latest one. The speed mode has no problem. (I will be very surprise if it has problem.) Sony definitely has the Bios and driver to make our Z work in Windows 7. I don't understand why they don't release them to resolve all the problems that we are facing in Windows 7 upgrade.

That's a good idea. Unfortunately, we don't have return policy in our country. Maybe someone in US can help. I can provide the procedure on how to back up the bios to a flash drive.

Why don't you just dump the bios from the Z?

If you computer store has the model on display.

The computer store has good services. They have salesmen follow me and answer my question. I have no chance to plug in my flash drive and reboot the machine in dos to do the backup.

    Just ask him! ;-)

But why do you need this bios?
The R4030M3 has already been released.

Yes, I don't need it now. I need this before I get the R4030M3.

Update to R4043M3 and you will be fine with FN Brightness in Speed mode and no gabbled screen anymore.
