    Z/SR Webcam (Video)

    Hey,
    I noticed that the Z has a VGA (0.3mp, 640 x 480) webcam while the SR has a 1.3mp webcam.

    The sole use for the webcam is gonna be video chatting. I read that even if a webcam can capture images at 1.3mp or 2mp, they can only capture vids at 640 x 480 anyways, so video chat quality between the Z and the SR should be the same, right?

    not true, the webcam on the SR is far much better than the one on the Z
    i have tested both as i use it all the time..

    i doubt it.. like, i think that what they mean is that when you're video chatting, some softwares might limit the resolution to 640x480, but the quality of the image will still be different..
    its like getting a bigger version of the same image and shrinking it to the same area, hence, youll have more details..

    Well, you know, if the SR webcam could capture at the full 1.3mp, then it'd be a pseudo-HD videocam, hehe.
    Like for the SZ, it's 1.3mp stills, 0.3mp motion.
    Thats the case for the SR and is it 0.3 still, 0.3 motion for the Z?

    but quality aside, video capture max for both is 640 x 480?

    not sure, the only thing i know is that my GF says that the cam is considerably better when using skype..

    The SR cam is pretty good for using in video calls. I do it almost everyday in MSN Messenger, will try skype some time. Uhm.... but yeah, I think it captures video at a pretty decent quality. I'm not sure but it might use the whole 1.3mp, cause when I video cam, I can notice a difference between my picture on MSN and my friends' pictures with their newer Asus laptops.

    Well, when it captures video, it reminds me of the stills I have taken with it as well. So I dunno, it might not use 1.3MP, but it would be pretty close because most everything comes out pretty clearly and it has a decent FPS.
