    Hi There!

I am the proud owner of a Z series with the 4 x 64gb Raid and the 1900x1080 screen and I LOVE it. However, I am looking for a backup including DR that I can use to recover if something happens. A few utilities I tried couldn't recognize the controller or drives, has anyone had any luck?

There's a ton of posts on this.

Both Ghost, versions 14 and 15, and Acronis 2010 work with the Z1 without any special drivers.

Could you then tell me please, what do I specifically need to look for to know if a product will support the Z series or not? I prefer paragon-software products to either ghost or acronis, but I'd take backup exec system recovery over that.

I've not seen reports on Paragon products.

You need to find out if it includes Intel RAID driver support. Driver support is apparently part of Vista and Windows 7-based loaders like in Acronis or Ghost use. If Paragon does the same, then it will likely work.

Not just any Intel RAID, but ICH-based software raid (also known as ISW, Intel Matrix Software RAID or Intel fakeraid). Support for Intel Server RAID controllers won't do much good. :)

Latest Paragon HDM (Hard Disk Manager) works fine. I used it to remove hidden restore partition and then move the rest towards beginning of SSD space and resize as needed. Did it with booting from virtual drive that Paragon created (Linux-based). Worked perfectly (I split large partition into C: and D: before that and added space from hidden partition to C: ). HDM has all the tools: partition management, backup/restore, defragment, etc. Made a C: drive backup with it. I have 3-SSD RAID0 config (384GB).
