    Hi

    Bought my Z series about 6 months ago. A couple of times a day I get a squealing sound coming from the left hand side of the machine, lasts a couple of seconds and is very loud, sounds a bit like a dial-up modem handshake. I did contact sony and they said I could send it back for repair but if they didn't find anything wrong with it they would charge me £150 - I didn't bother cos I was worried that if it didn't happen when it was with them they would just say there was nothing wrong with it and take my money.

    Does anyone have any idea what it is - fan? graphics card?
