I got the Z570N/B, but now I am having second thoughts (which I paid about $2550 with taxes, 2 year accidental warranty, and two cheapest accessories (mouse+neoprone case) with the $300 off deal) . I am thinking either I should've just gotten the Z550 with its falling price at amazon, or I should've gone for the Z590 customized. When I bought it, I just couldn't wait for mail ordered delivery time so I bough it at the Sony Style store. Now, I can't really change my mind with 15% restocking fee (that' like blowing off $300 for nothing).

Got to hate the restocking fee :), but I guess they are in place because of buyers like me. But how else can one know the product well enough to really evaluate the product?

never just think the 'buyers remorse' will go away. For the restocking fee of $300 you will be in actuality dissin the laptop that cost you 2500, wont like it=wont use it much=wont have that IT feeling of satisfaction outta it = $$ gone to waste anyway

Swallow the restocking fee, DO YOUR RESEARCH more this time THAN go for the one you want :)

Maybe if you talk to the store manager, and ask for a trade to the CTO (he will order it for you in the store, a few Canadians have done it here), he may let you do it without penalty. Also, complain about the Z570 (find something to complain about), and that you hear from the web is much better for the Z590 :)

That's why I bought my Z laptop from Fry's. I paid full price for it, but I had the option of returning it without restocking fee. Unfortunately I just couldn't get used to the keyboard after a week of using it, so I returned it, no questions asked. I don't like having to return a laptop, but it certainly gives me a peace of mind to know that if there's something I don't want to be stuck with, such as a single stuck pixel or in this case a awkwardly spaced keyboard, I can just return it like any other product.

Uh, i wasn't aware the sonystyle has a restocking fee, i thought you could simply return the laptop no questions asked...

eitherway, so your just unhappy with the specific specs of the laptop, but happy overall with it?

I think it's sonystyle.com that doesn't have the restocking fee.

This is true. You just need to absorb the cost of shipping it back to them. I chose the cheapest shipper but with insurance just in case.

****, now im not sure if i should keep mine or not, i CTO'd a Z590 with 2.53 4gb ram and fresh start and im not very happy with the gaming performance..
i would at least expect it to run TF 2 at medium settings as 1366 x 768 smoothly, but i get less than 40 fps

i know the lenovo will probably perform less than the Z, but still, its a third of the price of what i payed..

can anyone recommend me a powerful gaming laptop with less than 14.1"?

It's better. I don't know if we can say A LOT better, but the T400 is ~$1000 cheaper than the Z.

That's what I was thinking ... I see a lot of Z vs SR comments about the SR being a little bit better for gamers.
