Don't know whether it is a hardware problem or software problem. My Z can only run in 640*480 4 bit color mode when I switched to Stamina mode. I'm running Windows XP with all the drivers installed properly. In fact, it works before but it suddenly didn't work yesterday. I didn't install any strange software so I have no idea why it suddenly has problem.

Speed mode still runs fine. In Stamina mode, it can detect the Intel graphics chips properly and with the all the display mode available for choice, but display will switch back to 640 * 480 4 bits color even after I pick other display mode. I have tried to re-install the Intel display driver but it didn't help.

Didn't try Vista yet as it means I need to change the harddisk or re-install everything again.

Anyone has similar experience before ? I really hope it is not a hardware problem as I just bought my Z for a few days !

Go Intel website to grab new graphic chips driver. Install the new driver, turn off and turn on your Z again. The first time I switched to Stamina mode, I had the same problem. I upgraded the graphic chips driver, then turned off and turned on my Z, and it works fine now.

Thanks, but I have tried this with no luck. Actually the driver downloaded from Intel's Web site cannot be installed, it said that I should contact the manufacturer to obtain proper driver.

Weird, I downloaded Intel GMA 4500MHD driver from Intel web site, the file name is"win2k_xp14363.exe". The file can be installed in my Z.

Uninstall your current driver first, before you try to install the Intel driver.
