Hi-
My Z series SVZ131190X shipped using the classic BIOS rather than UEFI, but it can be changed. I am thinking about doing a clean install of Win7-64bit. The factory install is over 50 GB! I think that is excessive. Since I want to do a clean install, should I change to UEFI? I know there are several benefits to UEFI, so the only reason I would think that Sony would install on legacy BIOS is for stability reasons. Does anyone have any info or experience with this? Are all the new Zs shipping installed on a BIOS or is mine a fluke?
Regarding a clean install, is it worth it? Can someone recommend what I need to remove to clean things up without a re-install? I also want to remove the recovery partition (after backing it up) and the hibernation partition (I don't generally use hibernation) to reclaim that disk space. This is all in preparation to installing Linux. I'm thinking a clean install is probably best way to go, but I'm always open to suggestions from someone who has already been through the pain.
Thanks!
Z series BIOS vs UEFI? + Windows 7 clean install
