I recently formatted my computer with a retail vista disc. I forgot to back up the program that lets you burn more recovery discs and recover from windows itself.
Does anyone have the restore utility?

It was mentioned here many times, you can ask Sony for Recovery disks (2 DVDs), but you have to pay for this.

I have the recovery discs, i burned 2 copies of them.
But i'm talking about that program that initially lets you burn those discs, and lets you recover from your desktop and lets you access the hidden partition. They are oddly not on the recovery disc. And i cannot access the recovery partition otherwise. (i forgot to backup the utility before i formatted)

Can't you access the recovery partition by holding down F10 during startup or something? ISTR reading that on here somewhere...

It was my impression that the recovery disks include everything as it was when your laptop first arrived (including the recovery utility). Have you actually tried recovering your system using the DVDs yet?
