When I took my TZ to a sony store for a size comparison with the Z. I swear the screen of TZ looks brighter and more saturated than the new Z590 :( .... um... The sales told me that I might have been distracted by the new duraview coating. The brightness and saturation is exactly the same on both.

can someone who have both laptops confirm this?

Im the one that did the comparison pictures and indeed the TZ screen is brighter than the Z screen. I also thought the Z had 100% color saturation as oppose to the TZ 70%. I think it deals with the TZ screen being smaller hence making it brighter so i dunno.

wouldnt it be due to the coating?

thx... You wrote an excellent review on the LCD differences ;)

I originally thought TZ had better saturation than Z. But I don't have the same wallpaper to compare when I was at Sony Store so I could be wrong.

I already ordered a z590 since I need something more capable than my TZ but still a portable laptop. Your comment sure made me feel alot better

yes.. that is what I was told by the rep. Personally, I am in favor of TZ's high gloss reflective coating (I don't use laptop under direct sunlight). too bad this is not an option on the Z
