At home I have a Linksys WRT150N router, and for some reason my Z cannot hold the wifi connection for longer than a minute or 2. It constantly keeps getting disconnected and reconnected. At school it still behaves a little strange but is a lot more stable. Just curious what it could be. I'm considering trying to exchange it while I'm still within my 30 days, but what else can I try? Ubuntu doesn't recognize the wifi card when I was trying to run the LiveCD. My idea was to eliminate software gremlins by trying a different OS real quick instead of having to reinstall Windows.

EDIT: Never mind, fixed it by combing through my computer thoroughly. Seemed to be caused by malware. D'oh! Strangely enough Norton Antivirus kinda ignored it...

You said it. It is stable at different place, thus, it must be your router that's causing the problem. Play around w/ settings(only if you know what you are doing), update the firmware.

Well, it doesn't visibly disconnect at school but it keeps lagging hard at random times, or just not working. Here are some results of pinging www.google.com a few times just now.

Hmmmm I might have a malware problem, might just do a clean install properly at some point instead of trying to clean the original Sony install further...

Slightly OT I know, but I got so annoyed with NAV missing nasties that I've switched allegiance to NOD32. Seems to be far less bloated and gets decent enough reviews for catching stuff. (And if it misses stuff, I figure it's still no worse than NAV for far less resources used!)

Your computer is less than month old and you have malware problems?
