    Hi everyone,

I have a Z12, with a non modded BIOS and standard latest Sony Hybrid Graphics drivers.

I just bought Need for Speed: The Run, and upon launching, the game gives me the following error:

Nvidia Geforce Driver version detected: 190.24. Recommended version: 285.38. Please update your drivers at geforce.com before launching the game.

I don't want to mod my BIOS and have a static switch, I like the fact that I can switch GPUs without rebooting.

Any suggestions? Any way to spoof driver version to the game?

    Thx

You'll probably have better luck posting on forums related to the game, as this is a game issue. But most likely, tough luck. This is Sony's fault for not being able to provide the latest drivers.

We all agree on that, but if I can't play my game because of Sony's incompetence, I will s hit on their head xD

A few other games give me the same error (BF3, MW3, Skyrim) but let me launch the game anyway...

I tried installing the latest stable community drivers (26314 Nvidia, 2266 Intel), but the installer gives me a "The necessary components are absent" error at the start.

I'm on speed for the install, and coming from the standard 190.24 sony drivers. Any thoughts?

EDIT: Apparently I need to remove the original drivers first, then install the new ones. Is that done in SPEED or STAMINA mode? And the uninstall is the Nvidia stuff in add/remove programs right?

Get it figured out? I never did get the modded hybrid graphics to work and went with the modded bios versions.

Yes and yes. Should work fine. Good luck, and report back. There are folks with more knowledge than I on that thread, so probably best to post any further problems there. ;)
