Hi, i need to activate ahci mode on my sony vaio vgn-z11mn. The bios is the last R2169M3. Someone know what is the position of ahci in this bios if i use symcmos? Thx at all.

AHCI is activated by default. You don't need to hack the BIOS. And the bios doesn't work with symcmos.

Well it's been some time I installed it, but I did the usual -no autodefrag, no indexing, no restore points. I would consider Win7 x64 if I would be you. It gave my system some boost even with SSD (I used to have Vista 32bit as well) :)
