The screen on my Z11 fades from time to time. Usually when in Firefox. The colors just fade and the screen becomes very bland. Usually, I have to minimize Firefox in order to get things back in order.

Has anyone seen this? If so, what have you done to combat it?

it's probably the automatic brightness setting.

    go to
Vaio control centre -> Display -> Automatic brightness setting
    and uncheck "adjust brightness automatically"

you can also set up the extra button (between Assist and Vaio buttons) to control this behaviour.

If it's on intel graphics, try putting all option on quality and turn off the energy save at the Intel control panel (since there's a energy saving feature which does something to the display, brightness and overall quality).

Generally, it's unplugged when this happens. I have it set to stamina when on battery, so it's likely Intel.

This does not happen consistently, though. I can't recreate it. Seems to be no rhyme or reason for it. I'll be reading a page, and everything will fade to bland.
