Recently purchased the VPC128GG, and have mostly been extremely happy with the stock model.

But there have been 2 frustrating problems that have caused some concern.

    1. When doing heavy streaming the wifi radio will shut down! Using the Intel Wireless Event Viewer, I see the error "The wireless adapter's thermal throttling is active". The only way to restore the wifi, is to "disable" and "enable" the device.

    - from my inspection, the laptop is running cool itself, and doesnt seem related to the actual laptop load itself.

Any thoughts? How to disable this?
I checked the boot up bios and found no settings for it.

    2. A less common problem, about 3 times over the last week i've had the screen go blank, and the entire system has become non responsive. The only way i've recovered is a cold restart by holding down the power key. So far i'm chalking it up to glitches with drivers as it hasnt happened that often with quite frequent use. But curious if anyone else has had this issue.

Otherwise an amazingly great engineered piece of kit, and I remain a fan.

    Cheers,

Having the same wifi issue on my Z122GX when i was doing streaming, not too much just watching the live world cup streams. Happened 3 times already in 2 days. I guess it is time to contact the sony CS to get a solution, else the laptop might go back if I see this issue again in the next few days.

Search drivers on this forum. It has been confirmed that rolling back to older intel drivers 100% solves this problem. I assume both of you, being tweakers, updated your drivers and that is causing the problems....

they should if it's the same wireless adapter.

also it didn't fix the issue it seems since the wireless is getting dropped once again. So annoying. I have no clue how to fix it now.

it drops like 5-15 mins after rebooting. however i did find a fix on the forum which is to change your wireless drivers to the old intel ones which are version 13.0.0.1 or something similar. there's another thread on this topic that i just bumped :)

Same here, i rolled back to one version prior of the Intel Drivers, from the Intel Site. V13.0.0.1. Have not had this problem reoccur in over a week.

Incidentally the problem version drivers were the default ones, something like 13.1.1.1
