    Hi all,

I just ordered my Z12 (i5-520m, 128GB SSD, 4GB RAM), and it's coming soon. Thanks for all your posts and hard work, they've been really helpful in making my decision.

To those of you who have done a clean install, besides the slow POST issue, is there anything I should worry about if I do a clean install? That is, have you noticed anything strange and/or is there anything in the factory installation that is not available for download on Sony's website? (EDIT: I did read the FAQ, but I might have missed issues discussed in older threads.)

And regarding the slow POST and Zoinks' solution ( http://forum.notebookreview.com/6305447-post93.html) - since I only have 2 SSDs, am I immune to the problem? And if I am not, how would I go about performing those steps without nuking the recovery partition?

Sorry for the many questions, and thanks for any help!

I am wondering about the same thing except that I accidentally installed the Win XP before making a backup disc for Win 7. I do have a Win 7 Pro disc that I can use, however I need to know if there will be any complications if I tired a fresh install.

The thing that I worry most is the RAID. Will it alrady be installed? Or do I have to manually install it before I install Win 7

    Guys,

There is not that much junk on the machine when it comes from Sony. Just uninstall what you don't need. It's a MUCH easier and smoother alternative to blowing your machine away and reinstalling from scratch.

The Z's are so damn fast anyhow even leaving the bloatware on it's fast.

I don't see any point in starting from scratch, especially if you don't exactly know what you're doing.

I figure eventually I'll need to learn, and I may as well learn over the summer while I have a little more time, not after I've taken the computer to college. Windows installations don't last forever, although it may not be much of a problem on 7.

Anyway, thanks for the suggestion. I'll make sure to use the system for a while before I decide whether to clean install.
