To increase the volume? I think my Z13 has pretty loud speakers actually.... what's unfortunate is they sound like garbage, it's all high frequencies so it's undesirable to listen to stuff from them. Furthermore, the audio jack on the laptop is in a terribly inconvenient spot, so hooking the laptop up to speakers kind of sucks too.

If you want to hook up to a real speaker set, either use HDMI to a receiver (I haven't gotten my NVIDIA HDMI Audio driver to work yet though for some reason), or a USB sound card like the ASUS Xonar U1 which has optical out and 5.1 support.

I have found mine to be plenty loud as well, but as infzy mentioned it's a pretty tinny sound (no distortion on mine though).

My Z11 is really soft too, if there's any ambient noise at all I can barely hear my speakers even at full volume. My previous SZ was much louder.

Don't think there's much you can do about it other than using earphones.

I tried the Logitech N700 Lapdesk, see it here. Uses a simple USB connection [no software required already built into Win 7]. Sounds goes way up in volume and clarity. Although the sound was quite good the N700 was too large for me and I ended up with just a simple Logitech lapdesk, N315.

you can make some adjustments going to sound properties and adjusting from there.

My Z13 is very soft as well. For example, my Z13 at 50% is about the same volume level as my Toshiba R705 at 5-10% and my SZ680 at 20%.

Are you playing movies? Try VLCPlayer...it lets you crank the sound MUCH higher. Speakers in Z are crappy.
