    Just picked up the Z13z - 4x64gb

Will I have issues replacing this with a G2 Single/Dual SSD in the future? (example: RealSSD / Intel G2, etc)

My biggest concerns are: Battery Life and Bootup time. They don't sell the Z13 with 2x128 here, only 2x64, 4x64, 4x128 - My model is VPCZ13Z9R/XQ

Hopefully someone can help before it's too late to take it back ;-(

    TIA guys

The 4 tx 64gb is still only 2 drives, it just has two logical SSDs on each board.

But should I be able to replace the Quad (2x Dual) with a single 1.8" Gen2 SSD in the future? (any space / cabling restrictions?)

Siris - how much Battery Life are you getting? Boot time? Do you have BluRay? I read that Quad-SSD + HDD is causing Sleep/Idle problem with the CPU, does that apply for Quad-SSD + BluRay as well?

Check the replacing your SSD with a regular SSD thread. You have a Z13 which has the mini-sata cable so you should be all set. You'll have to remove the case though. Why would you want to though? That quad RAID is far faster sequential and comparable randomly.

My laptop gets 5 to 5.5 hours use while browsing the net.
Yea I have blu ray and no there is no issues with power management, that only seems to be if you add an HDD to the ODD bay while also running a raid array on the SSDs from memory.

My laptop post takes about 8 seconds to post, then booting all the way into windows is about 12-15, but I've done a clean install and alot of optimization.

The quad SSD can be replaced with up to 2 1.8 inch micro sata SSDs but you have to strip them from their cases so they are bare boards.

Procedure the for the Z13 is the same except you dont need to buy a new cable as it already comes with the msata cable, then you could be able to fit any of the drives that have been checked in that thread ^ and maybe others.
