Since Z2/SA/SB/SC has internal intel graphics and dedicated AMD graphics, I'm wondering if using AMD graphics will lower the heat output of the CPU since intel graphics is not being used.

I have a SA, but I thought Z2 owners would be able to answer this better because the AMD graphics is totally separate from the notebook itself.

Does the intel CPU stay overclocked longer since the gpu is not used? If this is the case, it should stay at lower temperature when idle. Or are they actually both powered on even when using AMD graphics?

My SA's CPU temperature rises a little bit when switched to AMD graphics, but that might be because the AMD graphics is so close to the CPU, and they share the same heat pipe (I never opened the inside, so I don't know).

Also, one thing I found weird is that when using a laptop cooler, sucking air out from the bottom works better than pushing air up towards the bottom of the laptop on the SA. I wonder where the air is being sucked in from on the laptop.

There's no easy answer to this. Its dependent on your workload, power states, etc.
