I have already gone into "Power Options" and set my Z2 to never sleep or hibernate while on battery or plugged in.

But while plugged in, after a period of time, I come back and the thing is completely off. I am not sure if this is "Sleep" or "Hibernate" mode, but when I click the power button it says "Resuming Windows".

I do not wish for it to do this. How do I disable this from happening?

    Thank you.

The "resuming windows" screen is indicative of hibernation.

It seems strange that it does this when you have already disabled it. My advice would be to set the laptop to "max performance" in power settings, and then change the advanced settings under the "max performance" power theme.

in the power options there is an advanced setting. In there, under sleep you can adjust the timing of hibernation to 'never' rather than the standard setting which is set at a certain number of hours.

Okay so the standard power settings screen shows

    SLEEP: Battery / Plugged in

But this is hibernation. So you have to go into "Change Plan Settings" and then click "Change advanced power settings"

Scroll down to "Sleep" and .... (more retarded windows logic) .... inside sleep is a "Hibernate After" setting ...

Mine was set to Battery: 60 minutes / Plugged in: Never.

    Thanks guys.

Note that when the battery is just about to run out, the laptop will go into hibernation to protect your unsaved data.

The reason I disable this option is because in the past, windows would build up so much "saved data" (or whatever it is that happens during hibernation) that over time, it caused my system to slow down *dramatically*.

Is that no longer an issue with Windows 7 or is it best to just disable it still, if you dont need it too badly?
