I was recently lost sound as I was holding my Z22 upside down to make sure my sheet battery was on tight and sound stopped coming out of the, well, what they call speakers on this thing! At first I thought I had pressed too hard in the place where the speaker wiring was exposed, but soon found there was no sound going to any source I set under CP->Sound, neither internal speakers nor headphones nor bluetooth showed any activity on the "bars" that indicate that any device is getting sound. Re-installed audio drivers just to cover bases, but no joy there.,

So I figured I either disconnected the cable going to/from the sound card or the sound card just picked that moment of manhandling the laptop bottom to blow/die. I have the Z2 service manual but I cannot discern from it just where the sound card is located. Everything else works perfectly, as always.

Any suggestions very much appreciated. I was thinking of parting out this unit because I have created some very unattractive cracks in that oh, so durable carbon fiber case. This would be the final straw, but I'd so much rather keep it as a very powerful spare or at least sell it as a perfectly functioning - if ugly - well configured Z2 (see sig.) Love to get the sound back, but if I can't do so easily, feel free to make me offers on parts - or whole computer sold for parts - or very fast soundless laptop ;(
