Looking around for a case for my Z I found this case sold by Sony on eBay. Black leather, hard sided with a rich looking blue velour interior that "hugs" the computer, it reminds me more of a guitar case than a computer sleeve. $198 seems pricey, but given your $2,000-$4,000 investment, seems like little to pay to protect, and showcase, your investment.

I couldn't find this on the US Sony site, but didn't look that hard, so check first before buying from this reseller in Japan.

This case came out when the Z21 launched but oddly enough Sony USA didn't bring it over here. It's odd because there's not a single Z2 specifically designed case in our market- the only one marketed for the Z2 is the one designed for the S series.

Ideally, I'd really like for MC3 to make a carbon fiber sleeve. Imagine a form factor similar to the one lovelaptops showed, but made of carbon fiber. This way it'll be much more convenient to pull in and out of a bag instead of the quite cumbersome "briefcase" thing where you have to pull the whole computer and case out of the bag, then take the protective felt bag off, then unbuckle like a briefcase just to remove the computer.

    I'd buy it.

One advantage of the case is, apparently, that it can fit the Z2 with or without the sheet battery with a foam insert taking up the extra space as needed.

    I have the VGP-CKZ3, I bought it for 89€...
It does look good, but the photo looks way better ^^

But overall it doesn't meet the quality I'd expect for such a pricey product that was specially for the Z2.

Also this case cannot accept the sheet battery. my Z11 can not even enter in it.

But the very good point to me is that my Z21 is very well protected in that case and the inner blue color is the same of my blue Z21.

Yes, that's the one I discovered to start this thread - but it's $200 while the one MikjoA bought was only 89E (lazy man's Euro sign )

It's been available in Germany from the start. I use it every day and am perfectly happy with it. The only downside is the sheet battery not fitting, but most of the time I don't carry that with me anyway as I like to travel as light as possible while giving my Z good protection.
