I can click the button on the PMD connector and the PMD "goes away" software-wise. I can leave the plug connected and it's as though the PMD isn't present.

However, is there some easy way to "bring it back" without having to physically unplug the connector and then re-plug it?

I'm finding I need to be able to go from a "connected" mode to "unconnected" and back again with some frequency. I'd like to avoid the physical stresses of the plug/unplug process if at all possible.

BTW, even if the PMD is not active but connected, the Z2 is still powered up via the cable.

Option 1: I find that if I pull the power cord out of the PMD and then plug that back in then the connection comes back alive.

Short of a software or button solution, then, I guess I can just install a rocker switch along the power line somewhere.

EDIT: Unfortunately, the DVD drive doesn't come back up under this scenario.
