I have never liked the trackpad on the Sony Z2 or Z3 (identical as far as I know), but lately it seems that mine has gotten worse. Specifically, I can't seem to get it to scroll nearly as smoothly or as fast as it did before - or so that's my perception; maybe it has always been this bad!
I've tried a number of different drivers, from the stock ones for my particular Z22 model from the Sony support site, to others for later Z2 versions to Synaptics generic drivers. I've also incorporated a community utility called "Two Finger Scroll," which was developed for the first Windows no-button trackpads on 2010 HP Envys and found the best results are coming from having both the Synaptics and the Two Finger Scroll drivers running concurrently. The latter have some speed and coasting controls that work better than the Sony/Synaptics ones, but if I turn off two finger scrolling on the Synaptics driver while using Two Fingers Scroll it's not as smooth.
Having exhausted all permutations I can think of and still finding that scrolling - with two fingers or one - is just too slow and uneven I'm just not sure what to do. I haven't tried SVZ13 drivers - does that make sense?
Any help appreciated. I can't be the only one experiencing this but there are no threads on the topic that have pragmatic success stories - that don't involve using a mouse!
Thanks.

Can't comment on Z2 as I have no experience with it, but the stock driver with Z3 works fine for me (2 finger scroll, circular scroll, 3 finger forward/backward). Occasionally the 3 finger gesture doesn't register but that's not a big deal for me. The 2 finger scroll appears to implement some kind of momentum/inertia thing so that I can scroll down fast. Love that feature. On Windows 7 Pro.

Thanks all for your suggestions. I found the drivers for the SVZ13 to be the same ones as the most advanced for the Z2, so I decided to try my luck with Synaptic's latest generic drivers (16.2.21.0) and, voila! They're great! Much faster scrolling and smoother - both two finger and one - and many more multitouch gestures, all of which work better than on any previous drivers. I strongly recommend these and ,if you were a user of Two Fingers - a very good community driver - you can now ditch it in favor of these.
I think I'll give myself a rep for this -
I'm having an issue with my SVZ and using a bluetooth mouse. When I disconnect and reconnect my mouse, after a few times, the trackpad drivers will forget that I set the scroll sensitivity to "6" and it'll automatically revert to 1. Any ideas how I should fix this? I was running the latest bluetooth drivers then reverted to the older ones and have the same issues.
I was also getting an issue where right after I connect the mouse the cursor would lag for a few minutes then become normal (while the trackpad worked fine the whole time). Any help is appreciated. -

I don't use a bluetooth mouse but I am so impressed with the drivers linked above that I would suggest you try them. With each successive driver set they not only add new features but usually improve on the basic functionality as well.

I'm finding one finger scrolling works exactly the same as two finger on my Z2. I take it you did toggle one-finger scrolling on - it's a separate feature from two-finger - and have worked with the extensive adjustments that this version of the drivers has - far more detailed adjustments for both two finger and one finger scrolling. Try it and report back.
NEW PROBLEM TO REPORT; I have been having problems with the new driver using the Chrome browser. The scrolling is not very responsive and extremely slow, far worse than it was on any of the previous drivers, including the 2011 in the Sony driver page for my device. I initially tested and used it on Firefox, my main browser. But I do use Chrome fairly often and in any case I believe it's now the #2 browser after IE, so these drivers should support it as well as it does Firefox. I'm looking into whether I need a Chrome extension/add-on to make things work. I would appreciate any suggestions anyone has. -
