    Hey folks...

For anyone who bought one of the new Z3's, I was wondering - the power LED (green one, next to the power button) sticks out from the case a bit beyond the edge of the case.

Pictures of it I've seen don't show this, but show it being flush with the edge.

Not a big bother, but I wonder if it's supposed to be that way, or if their machining tolerances aren't that exact.

Anyone have one and can check if it's the same?

I've had this on the Z2 and now on the Z13, it's part of the design. The left part is flush with the little edge along the notebook. The button itself is just slightly larger so you can always see the power status, even with the lid closed and from the front or back.

Thanks! I thought it might be for that reason!

Good to have a forum where I can find out these things; little details like this always drive me crazy (well, only a little :) ).

To me it was pretty obvious why it does stick out. Maybe not for some - I was surprised to see this question asked.

Well, "obvious" to one is not always obvious to all.

I thought to myself "Hmm, well it COULD be because you're supposed to see if it's on or off from anywhere, but then, isn't it kind of stupid to have it protruding - even slightly - from the otherwise completely flat side of the laptop body? Seems a bit weird."

In any case, I often second-guess manufacturing decisions, and I've had plenty of factory screw-ups to wonder why things are a certain way.

    Thus my question. :)
