I was having problems with the lcd getting white vertical washed out picture, and if I adjusted the position of the LCD the problem would come/go. Ordered the lvds cable for $60 and replaced it.

Remove battery, Ram cover, some screws that hold the keyboard assembly on:

Remove keyboard- use fingernail to split, run along front edge, then along right edge, leave top left corner, lift keyboard and disconnect the ribbon cable, lift a little more and wiggle back and forth to get the top left corner to pop free:

    Back of keyboard:

Pull CD assembly out (one screw):

Remove Hard Disk- Two metal brackets, one screw each:

Partially remove plastic frame- three screws, two ribbon cables, leave speaker wires, lcd power wire connected. Just move it aside enough to get access:

    Disconnect lvds cable from motherboard:

Remove LCD from frame- one screw each hinge:

Separate the LCD frame- again use fingernail to split, run along both sides and bottom edges, do the top edge last it is the easiest to break. There's probably some special tool they use for this:

Take the LCD out of the top cover (it just falls out):

Replace the defective lvds cable- use knife blade to take connector out of panel. Gently insert new cable connector:

See bad spot in lvds cable:

    Re-assemble in reverse. Problem fixed!
