I FINALLY received my Z590 today. I'm very very very happy with it. It's an excellent computer.
However, when I try to install Microsoft Office Enterprise 2007 it says Access Denied or when I try to do a System Restore it says Access Denied.
Does anyone know how I can fix this problem?

    Btw I bought mine through CTO. It's 2.53, 4GB, 200GB.

Could it be the TPM module?
    Is it Vista's security setting??

    In German - Benutzerkontensteuerung

Can you post a screenshot of when you get the Access Denied Message? if I had to give an opinion right now, I would reckon its something to do with the TPM too.

I'm not sure what TPM is. This is my first time using Windows Vista Business and apparently it's security issue because it's not only from the Microsoft office that I try to install, it's also when i try to install a new software it says access denied or when I try to restore. I know that it has to do with some sort of security setting but I don't know where to go or what to do to fix it.
    Please advice.

I had a similar problem with my SZ. I couldn't do system restore. Removing Norton Internet Security took care of the problem.

Even when I try to run the windows update it gives me an error saying access denied. It's very frustrating. I have McAffee on my computer.

Don't take this badly, but have you tried what people suggested?

Something is blocking access on your computer.

Now henda mentioned Symantec (Norton) as the culprit - I can't comment on that because its one of the first things I got rid of, and replaced it with Kaspersky. But come to think of it - after I messed up my installation the last time, I was able to deinstal anything and it went a boit later...

Going back to the TPM module. TPM = Trusted Platform Module - thoretically this can tell you what you are allowed to do with your computer and what not.

Now - the Vaio Control Centre will tell you if TPM is active or not. If it is, go into the BIOS and deactivate it.

Also: Have you used Vista before? There is this annoying darkening of the screen which you can switch of... (German: Benutzerkontesteuerung)
Key thing is: If you want to deistal something, you have top click on "allow" or "continue"...

It would be helpful if you could tell us what you have tried so we (as the forum) can think of other possible solutions.
Comming up with the same complaint, not knowing what you've done doesn't help.

    And a never2fast suggested - a screenshot.
Or if that doesn't work, maybe a picture from a digital camera/camera phone?

I hope you don't feel offended by this little bashing - and apologize if you do, but its only possible to help people if they cooperate and want to be helped.

TPM Module is not in the Vaio Control Centre.

    The error message says:

System Restore did not complete successfully. Your computer's system files and settings were not changed.

    Details:

    Access is denied. (0x80070005)

From "TPM is not in the Vaio Control Centre" I reckon its switched off (rather than not mentioned).

Thank you, now there is an error to work on!!

I did a search, on 0x80070005 and came up with the answer.

It could be the Windows Genuine Advantage tool
    It could ce DCOM settings...

I do wonder though, is it possible that for some reason your Winds copy isn't activated?

    Edit:

    Try this:
    http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012
The Windows Genuine Advantage Diagnostic Tool

Sorry but I'm not that advanced with Vista so you're gonna have to walk me through with the mentioned solutions above.

I'll try the link and let you know what happens.

The whole DCOM settings stuff I'm a bit handicapped - I get german results.

That's one of many things that cause this error.

I tried to save this in my documents http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012
But I can't, I get an error saying:

    Destination Folder Access Denied
You need permission to perform this action MGADiag[1]

This is very frustrating, I can't save anything anywhere.
Windows Vista Business sucks. If I knew I would've gotten Windows Vista Home

Did you try to just run it?

About Viata Business - I've got it on my Vaio and I like it.
I wouldn't hve wanted Vista Home Premium for the world... and I wouldn't have wanted Ultimate either...

    Ok, another Vists Knowledgebase article:

    0x80070005

Access denied. The requested action requires administrative credentials.
    KMS client/MAK/KMS host

User Access Control (UAC) prohibits activation processes from running at a non-elevated command prompt.

Run the slmgr.vbs command from an elevated command prompt, right-click cmd.exe, and then select Run as Administrator.

I disabled the UAC and it seemed like it was working until I tried to create a folder to save my software on and I get this error:

An error occured white trying to create file (C:\Program Files\Trillian\buddy.dll). Please check for available disk space/permissions. If you had a previous version of Trillian running recently, it may be closing, so try again. Sorry.

I have enough space and I don't have a previous version so the problem again is permission.

I solved the problem. The issue was my McAfee. I had installed it as Maximum Protection instead of Standard Protection. So I uninstalled it and set it to Standard Protection and it solved the problem.
