hi, so ill get straight to the point... im doing a clean install of windows server 2008 R2 and using this guide http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=293880
as i understand drivers should be compatible, i hope R2 doesnt make a difference.
1st try: i downloaded the drivers from the guide, which have a folder called "marvell yukon ethernet" or something. im realizing now i guess they arent included... i think thats for the dock or something strange. tried the have disk method along with searching and didnt work.
2nd try: i downloaded the driver from sony esupport here http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/swu-download.pl?mdl=VGNZ590E&upd_id=3712&os_id=28
this installed fine apparently except that i still cant get a connection and the "ethernet controller" in device manager is still unrecognized.
did i go wrong here?
after i did this i installed the smartwi connection manager from here http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/swu-download.pl?mdl=VGNZ590E&upd_id=3577&os_id=28
i didnt install the update, it crashes when i run it. would it really be required just to get ethernet working?
3rd try: i find this especially strange. i look up the hardware ids with device manager which read: "ven_8086" (vendor intel) and "dev_10F5". so i go to look up device 10F5 and get this Intel 82567LM-2
http://www.pcidatabase.com/search.php?device_search_str=10F5&device_search=Search
so i look that up at intel and get the drivers here
http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&ProdId=3003&DwnldID=12197&lang=eng
run them, everything goes fine and for a second it says "installing network drivers for Intel 82567LM gigabit network connection" and then stops and says "cannot install drivers. no intel adapters are present on this computer.
how could it do that? is this just how sony drivers work and i havent followed the guide correctly enough, even though it doesnt include instructions for the network drivers? im very confused as to why these drivers refuse to install.
thanks in advance for any help

Strange... My Z690 came with "Intel(R) 82567LM Gigabit Network Connection". I just installed Server 2008 R2 and the driver is automatically installed successfully. I am just having problems with bluetooth and memory stick reader (not SD card reader).
Z590 ethernet drivers wont install
