Hi, I just bought a Z591 from Amazon and wanted to know if someone knows how I could purchase the additional 3-year accidental damage warranty. Amazon did not provide an option for buying the warranty from them. Does anyone know if Sony lets you buy the warranty directly from Sony after purchasing the machine from one of their vendors. Will post a review after the machine arrives tomorrow.

    Thanks!

Grin - I ordered the same one today, still waiting for my shipping notification though. I called Sony today and they said indeed you can add it. The prices are more expensive than purchasing it directly:

    2 year with ADH = $349
    3 year with ADH = $449

The prices are less without ADH coverage, I believe its $299 for 3 years without.

By the way, when did you order - and have you received a tracking # yet?

I ordered at about 4:30pm central and have received my tracking no. But UPS is an awful company, so I am not sure they will actually deliver it next day.

Dang you! I ordered mine at around 2:50 central time and got an email this morning apologizing for missing the shipment guarantee, and that they are refunding my shipping cost and promise it will go out within the next business day.

Agreed on the general quality of UPS - at least in my current area.

i'd like to have it too. I mean z591 notebook.

Z591 is really good one, especially the one with 4GB and 320GB HDD, of course with 2.53GHz Intel Dual Core Processor

The only problem I can see: is the screen size. Only 13.1 inches. For some people it is small screen size for some it is not.

    13.1 or 14 inches?

sony vaio cs190 is a model with 14 inches screen (model with 320GB HDD and 4GB) or vaio z591.

both are models with T9400 processor, as far I as I know

And both are about 1.5 kg.

    -----

who does not like to have the new sony vaio z591 model from sony? or the new sony vaio cs190 model?

i can give him my address and (s)he can send it to me. It will be super to have a notebook for my studies.

Not sure what you mean but CS weighs 2.5kg, Z weighs 1.5 kg.

Screen on Z is superior to CS.

The CPU in the Z591 is an Intel P9500.

talking about processor speed and amount of RAM and HDD size almost the same.
for the screen you're right and for the weight. 1kg is a lot :)

the only problem for the most people is Z size of screen.

i guess Z is replacement for the SZ line?

What about buying it through Provantage? I know they have a 4 year express ship w/ ADH for under $300 (for me, about $306 shipped), it was recommended around here a few times so I'm hoping it's indeed legit/will work fine. I think I'm going to take that plunge to save $200 when I order my Z.

yup, like everyone said before you. You should be able to call up Sony and purchase warranties through them since Amazon is an authorized dealer.
