I was using my laptop last night just fine, closed the lid, and went to bed. I got up this morning, flipped the lid up and pushed the power button to get it to wake up. All I got was the light flashing green, a noise as the DVD drive powers up, and then a small "beep" coming from deep inside the unit. Removing the battery, forcing a shutdown -- nothing has worked. It's just the same of making that noise and not booting up. :(

Any clues out there? I have a feeling I'll be visiting the sonystyle store today.

If you're laptop is under warranty you should get sony to fix it for you.

I you're not under warranty then try the following:
1-Remove the AC adapter, remove the battery from the laptop and push the power button for at least 30 seconds. Then test your laptop. If this doesn't help move to 2.

2- Remove the AC adapter, remove the battery from the laptop, and locate your CMOS battery. Remove this battery for al least 30 seconds and try again. If it doesn't help move to 3

3- Try testing with another ram. I mean replace the ram in your laptop with another know working one and test again.

If none of the above get your laptop to swork normally I would say that you're victim of a faulty nVidia GPU.
