:D Happy day guy! Finally, I got my Z590 after a long wait. The pictures are to come later as of I'm uploading them right now. Here are some of my first thought:

    - Packaging - very light, typical outer box design like all other sony laptop.
    - Charger - this thing is heavy relatively compare to how compact and light weight the Z is.
    - The screen - hurt my eyes a lot the first day to the point that I was thinking about returning it and get a discontinued SZ from Amazon. I changed the font to 120dpi but didn't like it so I changed it back to 106dpi. The text and everything look normal, however, it's kind of losing the whole point of having a widescreen when you can't surf web on one half and do your paper on the other half. I switched back and found my eyes don't get hurt any more.... --> def. take time to get used to.
    - Keyboard - coming from the FS630 and SZ780, the Z's keyboard is very comfortable to use since start. I found some typing problem at first but not because the keys are too far apart but more because I moved my finger too far and passed the wanted key. Overall, smooth keyboard, much less noise than SZ (of course) and even the FS.
    - Wireless signal - great. No issue with drop signal or getting disconnected randomly like others have reported.
    - Battery life - I got the standard battery pack (will be getting extended batter pack sometimes later this year) and what annoys me the most is you will rarely see your Z with 100% charged. It takes a long time to charge this laptop while using it (I have not tested charing with the laptop turning off). 3-4 hours from 95% charge is doable without any problem even when you have both wifi and bluetooth enable.
    - The lack of Home & End keys is annoying. I thought I wouldn't be using it that much but now, when I'm using the Z, I found myself reaching out for those two keys all the time but later realized that they're not offered on the Z.

Anyways, my thought as of for now. Will try to answer you guys' questions at my best ;) (BTW, sorry for my English.)

If you don't mind me asking, do you have perfect vision? No near or far sight at all?

And this is why I returned the Z590UAB and got a Z with 1366x768. Changing DPI won't solve all your issues ... and my eyesight is just fine.

It was just the first day that my eyes got hurt. As I stated, I changed the font back to 97dpi (if i remember correctly, anyways, it's the default one that switched back o) and everything is fine. I LOVE it now.

yeah, it took me sometime to get used to it as well.. i just tried the SR with 1280 x 800, and those pixels look ridiculously huge..

made me change my mind and pick the Z over the SR

It is the Smart Protection because i own one, and that front part is made from a nice imitation of leather, definitely worth the 69 bucks (or 8 bucks to those who got the campus deal :D)

The side to side comparisons with the SZ and Z looks like a black ferrari from the year before and the a new dark grey ferrari from the current year, both look great!

How would you say the Z screen compares to the SZ screen in real life?
im sure pictures dont do it justice.

and whats the resolution of your Z?

    Great pics btw

Re the home & end keys, I installed a key remapping program (forgot the name of it, but I'm sure you'll find one if you google around) to make the right-side Menu key PgUp and the right-side Ctrl key PgDn. I highly recommend doing this!

Just from looking at those pictures i think that i would favour the resolution on the SZ. I think that i would favour a 13.3 screen as well.

The Z display looks brighter and maybe a tiny bit to saturated in terms of colour and the SZ maybe looks more natural but things like that are hard to tell sometimes from pictures. I take it that they were both set at the same brightness.

The SZ looks more subtle and maybe a bit more sleek and the Z looks a bit more funkier because of the colour combination used and the design of the laptop.

oh really? sony removed the home/insert keys?? that's strange.. what happens if we need to use them? or are they under the FN + #?

could you comment on the noise of the fan and how hot it gets compared to the SZ?

    nice pics btw!

yeah, definitely worth the money. Some people may think it's a bit builky in a way but I think it's worth the extra "bulkiness" to protect the Z from getting pressed on while it's in your backpack. My last laptop got all those small marks even when it was stored in the Vaio sleeve from getting press by those metal ring from my shool notebooks. That's the reason why I decided to go with a full size case rather than a sleeve this time. By far, not a single mark on the lid or anywhere else even when I saw pressed mark on the outside of Smart Protection case.

SZ is definitely a great laptop. Even when there're many other new series coming out, i think think anyone would regret buying the SZ.
I'm not so sure how to describe the different between the color saturation between the SZ and Z. The SZ seem to be a little bluish when sitting next to the Z, however, if you look closely enough to the picture, you will see that the background on Yahoo was supposed to be Light Blue (SZ) not Light Gray (Z). At first, this made me thought I was on 2 different backgroung color by Yahoo but later, I checked and both was on "Blue" as stated by Yahoo.... anyways, probably some color correction program may help this later otherwise doing photoshop won't be good

yeah, will def look for one. Thanks

Both are great laptops! The color combination of the Z is very good in person. You will appriciate how the keyboard is on the Z. So much less dust... however, I start to think this kind of keyboard may need more care than other since stuffs can still get inside underneath the keyboard AND it's much harder to get those out compared to traditional keyboard.

    Awesome idea, thanks.

This was the only drawback I saw with the Z compared to the SZ.

I regret buying the SZ. Now I'm stuck because selling it is hard & almost impossible. For example, (although I listed it on another forum) no-one is even willing to consider buying my SZ381P that has about 2 & 1/2 years of ADH warranty left for $750 shipped!
