OK, I've finally done with the palm rest. it was faster than I thought would be.
The project was fun and the outcome is pretty good.

Hope everyone like what you about to see ;) leave a comment if you dont mind.

Now I am off to next project. if you have a DIY idea, please share it.

here is another idea I come up with for my new Z2.
again, the idea may have been brought up already somewhere here since Z2 has been out for so long. I didnt have time to look all the posts so I didnt want to say "new" idea :p

this is a concept picture I put up with paint. havent actually do it yet.
personally I like the ones with pattern on it, but cant decide the color, both are looking fine.

Want to see what you guys think about this

Ok, seems like not too many ppl like the idea of the leather palm rest. but since I already made an effect to it, I will just post it anyway ;)

but before I get to make my palm rest, I actual made a laptop cover first still using Zagg leather. I would say I am pretty satisfy with the work. its just now it does not look like a Sony laptop. more of a "Leathertop"
I must say, the leather touch is nice...

Looks nice IMHO but can one buy a skin large enough for the Z palmrest? IIRC it is ~33 cm wide and the iPad is ~25 cm wide.

its not big enough, the actual work will have a cut line somewhere in the middle.

there is not too much to talk about.
just need to get the zagg leatherskin, and get a table cutting tool from staple, then you good to go. the leather is tough to cut in shape with scissor, but easy to cut straight with cutting tool. so just use you imagination, you can put out a lot of design.

careful measure is the key. you can always cut some paper to make sure the size is right before you actually cut the leather.

    Looks really cool :)

You used just one ZAGG Skin or you used two for the Palmrest and the Bezel?

Thats such a clever way of using those leather skins. I will be attempting to copy your design because its cool. I guess I will just eyeball the design and hopefully the 3 leatherskins I get will be enough. Heres to hoping i dont mess up.
