Don't use System Restore since that wrecks havoc to both the apps' licensing.

The 2 suites can't be recovered using VAIO Recovery Centre. So basically, they can only be recovered with a factory reset. Hopefully you still have the hidden HDD partition and / or made recovery discs...

Have you tried reinstalling them (from a downloaded trial version or similar)?
Most software will not delete registration keys when uninstalling, in case you change your mind and want to reinstall. I'm not saying that Adobe software is that smart (it's 2010, and their software is still not High-DPI aware, for example), but it's worth a try, at least.

yes those softwares were preinstalled.i have the hidden partition and the recovery discs.but recovering this way resets everything and deletes everything you have got,is that right?.and by the way are you sure that recovering from the discs will actually reinstall these applications?.

edit:just found that my vaio manual has keys for registering these applications.will downloading a trial version and using these keys work?

Do let us know if it works (downloading the trials and using the keys from your Vaio manual).

I wonder if this will work if you have blitzed a factory supplied Vista install with a Win 7 install?

One of the recovery discs have the applications on it (one has OS+drivers, the other applications+programs), if you recover everything, you will get the computer as you first got it from factory, preinstalled applications included. When reinstalling the program gets the key from internet (you previously registered the software with your mac address which I believe it will always be the same, so it gets activated when reinstalling)

I have been able to reinstall these programs again in a clean Win7 installation activated and registered.

    Good luck

Factory reset does a factory reset. It restores your VAIO to the state you got it in (assuming you got it new) - a fresh (and bloated) OS straight from the factory. So it will delete everything YOU installed and setup, restoring it back to the factory state. Resetting to a factory state will bring back the Adobe suite.

You can try the trial download, but depending on how old your VAIO is, the Adobe suite may be out-dated with the newer versions (which applies to me). Basically, you won't be able to find the appropriate trial version if your suite is the older version.

And yes, some software don't delete licensing registries when uninstalled, so if you are able to find the appropiate trials, then I would guess installing the trial would work.

A helpful note (though this may be depedant on country).
Photoshop doesn't come installed, rather Sony (in my case) just setup a shortcut to an installer to install if I want to (they should do that with all optional software).
When clean-installing W7, I simply moved that installer (and a data folder for the installation, found in C:/Program Files/Adobe) to a flash drive and installed that on W7. And it didn't ask for any keys. Though quite curious if anyone here got Photoshop as a 'install-if-you-want' option, or did it come already fully installed?
