    Hi,
i have the sz360, with the "UPEK Protector Suite" software installed.

i have a few things i would like to change:
    - i dont use the "my safe", so can i remove it from "my computer"?
    - i dont want to use the "registrations" (for password at the browser). haa, it doesnt even work on FF and IE7, and not that it doesn't work, there is the bug that sometimes i get the "document contains no data" bug, and nothing but reset solves it!

so, as you can see, i only want it to work on windows login process.

does someone have a good solution for these "bugs"?
    is there an alternative software?

How did you make it work with FF 2 with the 1st tab? With mine, I got an error message that said "active window can not be registered"?

I'm using a Fujitsu and it has the OmniPass installed on it. It works basically anywhere that has the password section (say, passwords in flashget, every tab in IE7). I didn't try it on FF2 though, cause I don't use one.

Not sure if it can work on VAIOs...

I just installed it and it worked....Actually, now that I think about it, I managed to find a newer version by searching. Toshiba laptops use Protector Suite QL also.

Doesn't work with my fingerprint reader, no matter which driver I use.
Would you post your driver & sw versions?

I just tried the 5.6 version on Toshiba's support site and it installed, but doesn't work. See the Vista drivers thread for more....

Prior to that I was using UPEK Protector Suite QL 5.3 and it worked fine with FireFox 2.0. Don't know about IE 7 since I haven't installed that on my SZ yet. 5.6 supports Vista (therefore IE7) and FireFox 2.0 but I guess the hardware in the SZ isn't supported.... :(

I don't remember where I downloaded 5.3 from, but I'll let you know once I find it.

Protector Suite 5.3 for Sony can be downloaded here and works great with IE7.

Neither original UPEK nor Toshiba Protector Suite work with Sony, because of incompatilibity with Sony built-in fingerprint sensor.

Protector Suite 5.6 from this thread actually works fine. It's different than the Toshiba one.

I can't get it to work on my SZ6 at all so at least you got that far. I get:

"Fingerprint software error. Biometric sensor is not calibrated. Please use the calibration tool to remedy this situation."

However there is no calibration tool anywhere in the software package, no references in the Protector Suite documentation, and I cant find anything but someone with the same problem on a Toshiba laptop through google.

Anyone have any ideas? I tried re-installing the driver but it didn't work. I'm 3 emails in to Sony support and they are clueless so far.
