anyone noticed theyre the same voltage lately?
im debating possibly frying my motherboard versus not having my computer running until tomorrow.

logically, though, there are only two pins and if the polarity is right and its the same voltage, then theres no danger, right? is it dangerous to have too much ampage?

As long as the voltage (including AC versus DC), polarity, size of the center pin and there is at least as much amperage, you should be fine. To much amperage is NOT an issue, too little is.
