    So, I just bought a brand new TZ150N/B to replace my old TR3AP, and it seems that there's something slightly wrong with the screen.

    When I look carefully at the screen, I can notice a pattern of diagonal lines that run across the entire screen every few seconds, then disappear, then return. It's very faint - and not very noticeable when I'm doing standard computer tasks like e-mail. But when I watch a DVD, it drives me crazy, because the effect is much worse for the parts of the image that are moving.

    It's similar to watching an interlaced movie - on an interlaced video, the image "tears" when there's lots of movement. Although this is not a tear, it's a diagonal criss-cross pattern of interference.

    Does anyone else with a TZ have this problem?

    Definitely not the case with my vaio tz 195...

    I guess if you've got your face right up to it you can see little squares of pixels, but I'm thinking that isnt the case with your screen...

    Well, I returned it. No one at the store could notice the problem (they thought I was making it up), but then the manager came in and saw it immediately.

    Then I went to the Sony store to get another one, but I noticed that every single TZ on display (including the $3,300 one) had the exact same issue!

    So I decided to go to the Apple store to consider buying a Macbook, and noticed that the Macbooks have the same problem as well! I found a picture from a mac forum of the problem : http://att.macrumors.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=60601&d=1161814720 (look at the bottom picture to see the diagonal lines).

    That really sucks! I was hoping to finally replace my almost 4 year old TR3AP, but I'm not going to pay $2,000 to downgrade my LCD!

    I guess Sony decided to use a different polarizing filter to save money, or something like that. You need somewhat sensitive vision to be able to notice it and/or be annoyed by it.

    My old TR screen is amazing, with absolutely no interference or other issues. No idea what's going on with Sony.
