so i got my new sony viao FW and i love this laptop its absolutely amazing, but alas, this is my first laptop ever and even i know there is alot of bloatware on this thing but i'm scared to do a clean install or to just start deleting items from the control panel since i dont want to delete anything i will need... dont want to make something now work how its supposto...

does anyone have any possible list of items that come preloaded on the sony fw than would be good to delete also a way of deleting them? (control panel --> etc etc)

ugh... lol i had another question but i forgot it lol :(

I am sure it comes with the usual Sony Picture Plus, Video plus, Help Center etc. (AOL too if they still do it, ugh!)

I would do a clean install + get drivers off the sony site

hey flounder if you need the list of programs that are pre-installed on your FW go to your VAIO help and support icon (should have been on you desktop) > click manual & specification > click software information (last link).

i usually delete them through control panel but napter is still on my welcome page  . I got my FW yesterday and i'm taking my time with deleting things, you dont need to rush and clear everything out at once, i'm looking at each program and making a decision.

    hope this helps

edit... how do i see the performance of my fw lol, i'm not used to vista, with xp it was alt + delete ... what is it with vista anyone know ?

Depends on the router I'm afraid, but if you log on to the router's web interface (usually at http://192.168.1.1 or similar IP address), you should be able to see an option under wireless setting for network type: e.g. "B-only", "G-only", "B+G", "B+G+N", "N-only", etc. Check that 'N' is one of active types.

Your laptop should use the fastest network it can find unless you've altered the settings on your wireless lan.

So have you logged in to the router's config to check the settings? (Look in the manual for the exact process and password details etc.)
