Bought this laptop new in April 2009. About a year ago, the head phone jack developed an intermittent short. The symptom was no sound from the speakers. I could workaround this by applying slight pressure to the side of the jack. Recently, I am find it more difficult and needing to press harder to get any sound. Is this a common problem? Can the headphone jack be replaced easily or is this major surgery?

    Thanks

...So why did you not use your warranty on first place?

You will need to open the laptop, it shouldn't be hard to replace (usually the whole Audio Card module) if you find the same, which could be more of a problem.
