It seems to me that only few people run into any problems with the laptopvideo2go driver. In my case and I suppose in the case of most people installing the driver via their instructions does not impede Fn key function.

Do you get higher benchmark scores with the 162.18 drivers vs 101.28 drivers?

If you read carefully, I don't think xavibrugal ever tried 101.28:

Although I would bet there is a difference, with 162.18 yielding better benchmarks.

^^ It's not really a serial number; it's called the ForceWare driver version. There are many ways to check the ForceWare version currently installed on you computer, I'll give you one.

Right-click your desktop background and Select NVIDIA Control Panel. [Alternatively, you can access the NVIDIA Control Panel by Start --> Control Panel --> NVIDIA Control Panel] Then Click Help --> System Information. You should be able to see the ForceWare version under the Display tab.

The latest is not always the best as many of the drivers on laptopvideo2go are Betas. If you're not having any issues with graphics, then you should probably not update ForceWare.

With that said, I've had no problems with ForceWare 162.18 (see my post above for links). The only issue I've read is that people are unable to Overclock with this driver, but that is not important to me at all.

Guys, I did the above (downloaded 162.18, got the moded INF and followed the Vista instructions by the letter), and now I am getting a BSoD when I try to run the Vista Experience Index (says something about file nv4_inf.sys causing mayhem and reboots).

I also noticed that the NV menus disappeared after the update (i.e. no NV menu when I right click the desktop or under advanced display settings)

Any idea how I can fix that? Ahh btw, is a Vaio FZ15G with the 128 MB version of the 8400m GT.
