i want to get a tz and am not happy with the prices in the us. i look in envy at the import site that have the premium carbon finish and 1.2 ghz processor for less than the cheapest us model. but i have a problem with ordering from these places due to the fact that they always seem a little shady, and i cant find ones with good warrentys, but maybe i havent been looking hard enough. can you refer me to the best place to get a tz with a warrenty and a 1.2 ghz processor for under 2500? or if there is a place that repares the tz's here(us) for a fee, thanks for any help you can give.

I think you should try various websites.. like www.conics.net or www.pricejapan.com.... The only difference between them is conics will install a english vista and provide you with a set of drivers either on a separate cd or on the computer... Pricejapan folks would provide only the japanese version of vista...

Also check for sure you get a english keyboard as opposed to japanese keyboard from pricejapan.... This is a matter of personal preference...

I ordered mine from Conics but I did not have price constraint, as my Company was sponsoring this lappy for me..... I was just lucky for this, I guess...

But price wise, conics is little higher as compared to pricejapan.... especially this has been the case with me. Also, folks at pricejapan are not that good with english... whereas conics is good with the language and provides a great service. Brett from conics has always answered my questions promptly and has been a great resource as far as any questions related to my order are concerned.....

So do your due diligence before you buy TZ90... Pricejapan only uses DHL to ship your PC where conics uses the cheaper EMS for shipping... Personally I don't see much of difference between DHL and EMS... But I have heard that EMS is good at cheap price.... whereas DHL have had issues with some folks here who ordered TZ90....

Ofcourse Pricejapan delivers with english keyboard aswell.

    Pricejapan also offers EMS.

the reason they advice to use DHL is for their better customs clearing procedure in europe.

    On the good side:
Pricejapan has many bankaccounts in different country's. Conics only has japan and australia. For me personally that meant a 3% fee had to be paid, just to pay to Conics. Cause PJ has a german account I can pay them for free.

For me, Pricejapan has been way more responsive with email than Conics.

I just checked out conics and the Sony TZ with SSD, DVD, 2GB MEM and 1.2 shipped comes to 2,715.23USD. Sony is selling it for 2999.99, you save $284.76. Amazon will be selling this same exact model for $2999.99 free shipping and no tax when they receive it.

I don't see all this money you guys save.

Here in The Netherlands it's only being sold with 80GB or 100GB 4200RPM HDD.

No SDD, NO 160GB 5400RPM HDD.

I think you understand why I get it in Japan....

PS. try Pricejapan, they are a bit cheaper.

In Australia the only model we have on offer with an SSD costs $4,299.

The US prices also seem to have dropped $200.

I actually see Sony's pricing as not 'TOO' bad. Plus they're including a free leather case. The top end model is $3199 (with tax cause I live in NYC is $3463) with the premium carbon finish is the same exact model I got from pricejapan which I paid $2744, there is a difference of $719. I would call that a significant saving.

Whole point is moot because the OP is asking for $2500 or less with warranty.
