    bios flash failure. help!

    Sony VGN-SR series bios update fail. now the computer is dead. battery light blinks. powers on, thats it. I know easiest way it to swap MB but warranty just over. damn viao updates!
    Anyone know if its possible to repair bios or reflash bios?

    The SR has a UEFI, unlike a conventional BIOS. I'm not sure that will work.

    This computer (vgn-sr series) uses INSYDE H2O bios. I read people boot from thumb drive to reinsert the bios. But the hotkeys to boot to USB are not working for sony machines. Anyone have any idea?

    Maybe you can PM one of the guy's over the "enabling VT on VAIO's" thread. They would probably be able to answer any BIOS questions you have.
