    This might be an old question...although I was not able to find any info on this thru a search in this section.

    Just what is the brightness spec (nits or cd/m^2) for the 15.4" Xbrite screen on the Vaio laptops? So far I have collected this data for my purchasing decision matrix:

    Fujitsu - 300 nits (high end)
    Dell - 185 nits (ultrasharp)
    Gateway - 200 nits estimate
    HP - 200/160 nits estimate (dv/nc)
    Sony - ?
    IBM thinkpad - 200/300 nits (std/maxbright)
