    i recently brought a vaio vpcf12jfx/b, the screen cracked and sony wants $800 for repairs. i would like to do it for my self but cannot find the lcd anywhere. could anyone helpme with this, i would like to know where i can find the lcd or if i can use another model screen

    Yeah, you can get it for a couple hundred or so. I think you have a 1600x900 display right? You can look here. Laptop Parts & Repair, Notebook Computer Repair, Printer Parts - Spare Parts Warehouse They have screens for other F12 models that are the same res. I don't know if those models are US or European and if those are interchangeable but you can look that up for yourself. If European vs US, probably the only difference would be having to also replace the inverter if they happen to use a different backlight method. The 1600x900 displays may even be the same though. You can also look on eBay and other parts websites.
