vista can use a memory stick as a buffer between your system ram and your hard drive.

That said, simply having more ram will give you much better performance than a buffer.

Ram is high speed, memory stick is medium speed, and your hard drive is low speed.

The problem is that your ram is waiting around for your hard drive, so adding a memory stick buffer can help in performance.

But think about it - just having more ram in the first place is obviously going to give you better performance than adding a buffer.

I hope i explained that well enough.

    Buy more ram.
