you can configure the 15.4 inch bx with x700 on the site but dont know if it can be ordered, probably not but you can see the price.

2 ghz, 80gb sata, 256 ram, dvd DL, w/ x700, integrated camera, extended battery

    1,861.01

thats pretty expensive considering 256 ram but x700 and sony screen cant beat that.

RAM is really cheap, so that's not a concern (and it's a good thing since you aren't paying for 512 MB that you don't need!) On NBF, it's known as the infamous "memory tax" because you are paying for memory that you'll ditch if you upgrade.

I configured the same model except I went for 1.73 (2.0 is useless here) and took off the camera and the battery and got a much more reasonable $1581. Add on $200 for 2-1GB sticks of RAM and that grand total comes out to $1781. Granted it's still somewhat expensive for this kind of laptop, the screen does blow the HP's screen away by miles.

Thats life for ya. Always full of surprises. You just gotta accept it and move on. If I were you, I still would have picked the Asus.

Hm, the Sony BX is a nice notebook...but I've been hesitant to recommend it because it is nearly impossible to acquire!

Well it doesn't help that my desktop is currently out of commission and I've been waiting 2 weeks for Abit to RMA my motherboard.

The BX is on CNET's featured videos today, but I'm not sure why because the video is the same old one from end of August.
