    Hi,

I'm considering to purchase the Z-series from JR. They have z520 for 1750 which i think it's a great deal. My only concern about purchasing that is the warranty. I would like to purchase the 3-yr express shipping with ADH with it.

I browsed a little bit online and found BHphoto selling it for 250$.
    http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/528335-REG/Sony_VGP3SYLPAD_3_Year_Express_Ship_Extended.html

Can I apply that warranty although I purchased both of them separately?

If it's possible what's the procedure?

    Thank you.

PS I'm aware of the deal through sony. It's just I'm trying to stay away from CTO and even if I buy the CTO it would take about two weeks to get it.

I have no personal experience with BHphoto, but the extended warranty sold with Vaio notebooks through Amazon is horrible

Why can't you get a pre-configed through SonyStyle?

    They only have 2000$ one.

Also, I have to pay tax.

And the warranty sold by BH Photo is an actual Sony warranty. (BHPhoto is a very reputable company)

Yes, you can buy the extended Sony warranty aftermarket. Once you received it, open the warranty package (usually a sealed booklet) & follow the instructions in it. There will be a code in the booklet for you to register the warranty & your laptop on Sony's website.

just confirming speedwithjj's comment. i bought an aftermarket warranty (actual sony warranty not some 3rd party) and registered it just fined directly through sony.

you may want to check out provantage as well. if i remember correctly, i think i paid $189 for 3yr with accidental damage protection.

    Just one more question,

I tried to register my 3 yr onsite w/ ADH warranty with my Sony Z and they ask me to put in the contract number. Is that the serial number on the warranty card?

Would that be the service contract number that I would have to give them later when i want service?

    Hey ruberhan,

Do you know if this extended warranty that you linked above is valid also for Europe?
