This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    can't shut down my fe690!

    hi all,
    my laptop will hibernate but not shut down or restart. i haven't done anything recently to screw things up so how can I shut it down?
    as usual, thanks for sharing your knowledge

    YOu probably have to wait a while until it shuts down instead of pressing the Shut down button and closing the notebook.

    Or you may still have running programs like AIM or things on your taskbar or startbar. Turn them off or exit them before shutting down
